Altered Reality
2022
In the last year our collective reality has shifted from an in-person, hands-on, interactive environment to that of a virtual one, reliant on screen-based media for our day-to-day interactions with colleagues, family, friends, and neighbors. This transition has altered our social behaviors, where face-to-face interactions feel limited, to the point that seeing someone in person feels unusual. This project seeks to research and explore this altered reality through modified computer components, utilizing sensors and simple mechanisms that will activate monitors throughout the exhibition space.
This video outlines the presentation of work created for my Spring 2021 exhibition at the Sculpture Center in Cleveland.
