I am quite amazed at the way our society is willing to go to all lengths to preserve themselves, their possessions and their past. I am bewildered by society’s inability to let go of a moment and their quest to stay forever young. This preservation of art and memories has bothered me enough to create work to counter or poke fun at the strides curators and my family takes. I create work that is presented in a museum quality manner, with neat organization of my materials. Some work is intended to only be viewed for the initial response or critique, while other work has a shelf life that does not allow me to present my work for more than a few days. I enjoy using various materials, which often come from the stockpiles in my parent’s house and placing them behind glass or on a shelf. By placing materials in this manner I hope to add value to almost worthless materials.
